Deborah has an undergraduate exposure to cultural anthropology, which provided a thorough foundation and appreciation for cultural difference and how it impacts the individual and families. She believes that understanding culture frequently aids in developing therapeutic relationships, and uses this approach in her work addressing major depression, anxiety, bipolar disorder, trauma and anger management with individuals, couples, families, and groups. She works with adolescents, adults, and seniors.

Dr. Mosley-Heath’s primary theoretical orientation is psychodynamic with an eclectic approach that utilizes aspects of cognitive-behavioral, solution-focused, play and person-centered therapies. She is a clinician, consultant and trainer. In addition, Dr. Mosley-Heath is also an adjunct faculty member at UMBC. She has served as the Clinical Director for the DC CINGS Program at the DC Department of Behavioral Health, formally the Department of Mental Health.

Dr. Cunningham is a seasoned clinician who has had experience establishing and delivering a wide array of clinical services to youth and their families; specifically, she has developed and administered a quality improvement plan for a government agency (DC Dept. of Mental Health). As a whole, her experiences represent myriad activities associated with the planning of long-term changes to service systems and offering treatment and support services impacting those with notable mental illness.
